Don’t take me for granted ? How to Say ‘take it for granted’ in Korean!

In this post, we’ll explore how to express ‘take it for granted‘ in Korean. 🌻
Let’s dive into today’s lesson!

Let’s dive in!

To express ‘take something/someone for granted,’ we can say ‘당연하게 여기다.’

Here, ‘여기다’ means ‘to consider’ or ‘to regard,’ and ‘당연하다’ means ‘to be right, obvious’ or ‘to be expected.’
So, literally, it means ‘to regard something as obvious.’
You can use ‘생각하다‘ instead of ‘여기다’ as well! (‘생각하다‘ means ‘to think’). 생각하다 sounds a bit more casual.

Let’s take a look examples!

Don’t take it for granted.
– 당연하게 여기지마 / 생각하지마(a bit more casual)

He always takes my help for granted.
– 걔는 내 도움을 항상 당연하게 여겨/생각해

They take it for granted that I do all the work.
– 걔들은 내가 모든 일을 다 하는 당연하게 여겨/생각해. (You can connect with “는 거”)

Why do you take it for granted that I will go all the way there?
– 왜 내가 거기까지 가는 당연하게 여겨?

Don’t take me for granted.
– 나를 당연하게 여기지마.

I don’t like people who take me for granted.
– 나를 당연하게 여기는 사람은 싫어

Every new word you learn is a step closer to understanding the world in a new way..
