Korean listening practice #14 Hobbies

Welcome to Part 14 of our Korean listening practice series!

Today, we’ll focus on expressions related to Hobbies!
What kind of hobbies do you have? Do you like to cook, study, or read? Today, we will learn useful vocabulary and expressions related to hobbies! I enjoy working out, hiking, and baking. This will be a perfect topic to cover when hanging out with Koreans, so let’s dive in!
Before listening to the podcast, make sure to review vocab and grammar thoroughly and become familiar with the new terms!

1. Get to know important vocab and become acquainted with grammar concepts.
2. Watch the video without subtitles initially, then review with subtitles.
3. Listen repeatedly and mimic the speaker. Aim to listen at least once daily until you’re comfortable with the sentence structures and expressions.

요리하기, 책 읽기, 운동하기가 가장 흔한 취미인 것 같아요.
Cooking, reading books, and exercising seem to be the most common hobbies.

저는 언어 공부와 책 읽는 것을 좋아해요.
I like studying languages and reading books.

밤마다 책을 읽었었는데, 요새는 피곤해서 많이 안 읽어요.

운동 하는 것은 몸과 마음 둘 다 건강하게 해 줘서 좋아요.
Exercising is good because it keeps both your body and mind healthy.

시간이 나면 등산이나 서핑도 하고 싶어요.
When I have time, I also want to go hiking or surfing.

복싱이나 레슬링을 배우는 것도 도전해 보고싶어요.
I also want to try learning boxing or wrestling.

스트레스를 받을 때마다 베이킹도 해요.
I also bake whenever I feel stressed.

케이크와 쿠키를 만들면, 기분이 나아져요.
If I make cookies and cake, It makes me feel better.

앞으로는 취미로 악기도 배워보고 싶어요.
In the future, I would like to learn a musical instrument as a hobby.

피아노나 기타, 드럼 등을 배우면 재밌을 것 같아요.
I think it would be fun to learn piano, guitar, drums, etc.
